Useful words and sentences

If the table is about Weather, you can use the following vocabulary.

cold – cooler- the coldest

December is the coldest month of the year

The coldest time of the year in Pakistan is December.

The coldest month in Karachi is December, when the average minimum temperature drops to 5 ‘C.

 

warm – warmer – the warmest

dry – direr – the driest

The driest period in Pakistan is November

hot – hotter – the hottest

June is the hottest month of the year in Karachi.

The hottest month in Karachi is June, when the average maximum temperature increases to 40 ‘C. 

wet – wetter – the wettest

July is the wettest month of the year in Pakistan

 

Joining two different ideas

When the two similar figures are given in the table, it is important to compare and contrast the information and connect them in one sentence using the conjunction

First For example, comparing 2 figures in one sentence.

The highest average temperature in Pakistan in June is 40 ‘C, whereas the Norway maximum is 25 ‘C.

Second example, comparing 2 figures in 2 sentences.

The highest average temperature in Pakistan is 40 ‘C. By contrast, the Norway maximum is only 25 ‘C.

If you want to introduce an opposite side in a new sentence so you use the following expressions.

  • more common than
  • more than
  • smaller than
